The ultimate plaything -- the TAG!

Hey everyone, it's Liz again.

Six-month-old Haydin is crazy. Just as crazy as her momma!!! (OK probably not. Daddy is way too laid back for that... )

But I do have another silly story to tell.

Recently Haydin has developed a fascination (and borderline obsession) with TAGS! Yes! Those stupid little white tags with the tiny words printed on them.

They can be found on anything from a sweater to a carebear to a pillow on the couch. Wherever they are, Haydin seeks them out and sticks them straight in her mouth! (She's getting two little teeth on the bottom too btw.)

She is so funny. Even while sitting on her little inflatable tub thing in the bath, she's preoccupied with the tag.

I sit her up and let her splash in the water.... she goes for the bubbles for a few seconds, then attacks her poor little rubber duckie (which soon floats out of reach). Then she always goes for the gold, her favorite little thing! The TAG!

The tag on the bath thing is in the front near where her feet are when she's sitting up (propped up with help from me.)

So she'll bend over, nearly in half, and grab the tag and forcefully put it into her mouth. I have to take it away because I'm afraid she'll dip her entire head into the water mere inches away.

She has accumulated so many toys over her six-month life span it's ridiculous! And most of them have tags.

Santa brought her a $100 excer-saucer thing (which provides hours of entertainment and is great!) But one of her favorite things on it is the little white tag on the side. She'll spend 20 minutes just picking at the tag and repeatedly putting into her mouth to suck on.

It's the same thing with the toys hanging off the bar on her car seat and her favorite little pink doll. The doll is fun -- but eating the tag coming out of the doll's butt – even better!

Even though I think she's a little neurotic, (or maybe she's just a baby who enjoys reading the fine print ;) ) I am glad because apparently she's pretty easy to entertain. Just throw a toy in her direction, any toy, and let her search out the tag!

I'm thinking she'll outgrow this and start to actually appreciate the toys for toys at some point, but right now, whatever. She's 6 months old! She'll play with a remote control for the TV for 10 minutes because like three buttons on it light up. It's cute.

She's just enjoying the simple pleasures in life.
