OK, I take it back
Well, it's official.
Haydin is on the move!
I have been waiting for the day she is actually able to crawl for the last few weeks now because she's been scooting and rolling all around the house.
Now, she's 9 months old and a crawling maniac... and I kind of wish I could take it back!
I liked being able to just plop her down and keep an eye on her while she pretty much remained in one spot playing with her toys.
It was so easy, and she couldn't get into much trouble. Now she's crawling around exploring whatever we don't want her to get into!
She especially loves pulling on cords and pushing buttons on the DVD player. She also loves taking the remote control and changing channels and pushing buttons so I don't know how to get the TV back on. (I'm a bit technologically challenged.)
Basically anything she is not supposed to play with, she heads right for it. Why are babies like that?
I haven't even let her crawl around in the kitchen or our bedroom yet. I'm too scared for the little things she'll pick up and put in her mouth! (I need to vaccum and MOP!) :P
It's time to really baby proof the house now too and get baby gates at the top and bottom of the stairs so she can't go up or down unattended.
I guess I am just a little sad that I was so excited for this stage and now it is here and it's not as great as it seemed. This reminds me of when I was in sixth grade and I wanted braces because all the "cool" kids had braces. WHAT WAS I THINKING?
When I finally got braces (for two years) I couldn't wait to get them off.
It's just that when the little ones go from being a little "lump" to completely mobile, it's definitely a huge change.
I am glad she's on track and making progress toward becoming a little girl, but I am also amazed at how much she's grown and how quickly it seems like time is going by!
In only a few months she'll be 1! It is crazy. :) I feel like I need to soak things in while I can and make the most of her little baby time, because before I know it she's going to be walking and talking on her own!
Just a thought. :)
x Liz
